Absolutely outstanding 1-1/2" brooch with segments of striated gray / blue agate.  The beautifully chased silver setting is layered with a raised star motif in the center.   Typical of the era, the brooch is equipped with an extended pinstem and c-clasp.  The hallmarks are quite faded, but indicate the piece was made in 1869.
