Absolutely stunning 2-1/2" x 1-5/8" rhinestone encrusted peacock brooch.  The back is stamped with a 4-digit code (looks like 0804) so my first guess was Marcel Boucher ... however, a Boucher collector recently told me it is more likely a Panetta design, knocked off with the 4-digit code, I assume, to make people think it's Boucher.  In any case, it's a wonderful piece ...very well made, hefty and in excellent condition. The bird's wing and flowing tailfeathers glitter with pavé clear rhinestones, accented with deep blue and emerald green stones.  This very elegant fellow also has a tiny green rhinestone eye ... and he's impossible to photograph!  P.S.
