I am not certain that the center stone is an amethyst; however, it is a beautiful shade of amethyst and is set in 10K white gold.  I have tested the tiny pave-set stones along the side and they do test positive as diamonds.  This beautiful ring is a 7 1/4 and in excellent condition.
